A detox bath is all about using the power of steam to help the body detoxify itself from harmful toxins. During a detox bath, the toxic materials in your body are dissolved and flushed away with the help of a therapeutic essential oil blend. You can add bath bombs or make your own detox bath.
Here is the recipe for the detox bath that I recommend and an explanation as to how these ingredients help:
- 4 cups Epsom Salt
- 4 cups Hydrogen Peroxide
- 4 cups Baking Soda
Soak for 30-40 mins with the water as warm as you can handle and then follow up with a TON of water.
Epsom Salt: The skin rejuvenating and detoxifying properties of Epsom salt make it an effective treatment for relieving muscle aches caused by hard exercise. It’s is rich in magnesium & sulfate, which are easily absorbed through the skin & aid in detoxification. It acts as a broad spectrum cleanser, clearing lymphatic congestion, removing some heavy metals and helping remove residual radiation & chemical exposures.
Of course, it’s a smooth muscle relaxant & helps with muscle strain & pain. Epsom salts help replenish the body’s magnesium levels, which combats hypertension. It also induces sweating. They create a dense bathwater, and osmotic pressure pulls toxin-laden fluids out of the body.
Baking Soda: It’s a drawing agent that’s known for it’s cleansing abilities, and even has anti-fungal properties. It helps neutralize chemicals like chlorine, & increases mineral absorption. It also naturally alkaline, which aids in removing toxins. (ALL disease needs an acidic environment to live!)
Hydrogen Peroxide: Of all the ways to oxygenate the body, this is the easiest & cheapest. By cleansing & purifying our skin, our bodies’ are more equipped to better eliminate toxins. Peroxide can help destroy toxins, organisms & even pulls out the residue left by soaps & other (toxic) body products. It’s also antibacterial and antiviral.
The quantity is higher than most have heard of but this is how you will get the toxins to pull from the different organs.
The reason we recommend the same recipe no matter the size or age of the child is because it works by cellular osmosis and all ages have the same!
Onto some additional instructions and tips:
After soaking, gently rub your skin (toward your heart) to clear out toxins.
You can also add 1 cup of Apple cider vinegar, which will help to restore the acid-alkaline balance in your body and softens skin.
Add a few drops of Ginger essential oil to the bath as Ginger increases circulation, opens pores and makes you sweat.
Make sure you drink plenty of water after the bath so you don’t dehydrate. Also sealing that moisture in with a soothing body butter or lotion will aid in keeping your skin moist and not dried out from the loss of minerals to your skin.
Use caution when getting out of the bath as you might feel weak or light headed.
You may probably feel tired right after, so take this bath at a time when you can go right to bed if you need to.
Don’t be alarmed if your water changes a gray or rust color as that is just the toxins being pulled from your body and through your skin since your skin is porous.
Make sure you clean your bathtub with a sanitizing cleaner when you are finished since your toxins will line the walls of the tub.
Don’t take hot baths or salt baths if you are pregnant, have heart trouble, high blood pressure or if you are diabetic, without talking to your doctor first
** I would also like to add that it is highly recommended that you replenish the purged trace minerals that were pulled from your body during the bath. This detox bath will pull good and bad minerals. So I recommend a cup of Himalayan salt tea or another mineral tea of your choice to get the trace minerals back into your body.
